Max Havelaar

Illustrating Max Havelaar’s activist spirit through diverse, dynamic characters for their greeting card and digital storytelling.

Max Havelaar France contacted me to create their 2024 greeting card, sent to their partners, organisations and institutions. Their goal was to highlight the activist spirit of the Max Havelaar NGO.

First proposals

After a sketching phase and a few verbal exchanges, my contacts and I moved towards a graphic proposal centred on a collective, dynamic march.

Client’s visual references

What they liked: the composition of the marching figures, their color range, the style and attitude of the characters. Since Max Havelaar’s brand palette is very vivid and contrasted, we opted for a range of tertiary tones, giving the image a warm atmosphere.

Main colors and skin tones

In addition to a printed version, the visual was adapted into a .gif for Max Havelaar France’s digital communications.
